Task 1: The Big Brother Emmys

Welcome housemates to your first task! We thought we would start the game off with some flair, so we will be hosting our very own Emmy Awards. For those unfamiliar with them, the Emmy Awards are a yearly award ceremony for excellence in television. The real one will be held on the evening of September 22nd this year; ours will be held on September 19th, in 3 days time. There will be a lot of work involved in the planning and presenting of these awards, but many hands make light work. Here is what you will need to do:

First we will need one male and one female volunteer to be presenters. They will each receive 10 task points, but they will also have a lot of extra work ahead of them. Volunteer in this thread if you are interested, and if more than one person from your gender volunteers, it is up to you to work it out among yourselves. Once the two presenters have been decided, they will receive additional instruction from Big Brother.

Everyone will need to nominate in a minimum of 5 categories. Housemates will receive one task point for each nomination, for a maximum of 15 points (you can nominate more than that but only get point for the first 15). Failure to nominate at least 5 will result in losing 5 task points. Make your nomination in one post in this thread on Monday or Tuesday (official site time).

If you wish to campaign for your nominations, you are welcome to do so. Graphics and posts throughout the house are welcome and encouraged. There is no penalty for not campaigning, however.

On Wednesday, the nominations will be tallied up and polls will be created for each category receiving 2 or more competing nominations. Each housemate will have 24 hours to vote in the polls. They will receive 5 points for voting, and lose 5 points for failure to vote.

Finally, on Thursday the male and female presenters will put on a show for us. The results of the polls will be announced, and much fun will be had. It does not matter who wins, but if any of our results happen to match those of the actual Emmys, prizes may be in order.

Preferably yes, but we'll be lenient if you want to nominate an older show.

Being a presenter sounds like fun. I, like Anka, would be pretty much useless with anything else.

Also, question: the upcoming real awards are the Primetime Emmys, but is our show open to all television? That is, can we nominate day-time shows like Oprah as well?
