This is a delicious recipe of my mom's that is a family favorite. 1 Cup scalded milk (just bring to a boil and remove from heat) add 1/4 lb. (1 stick) of butter 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 tsp salt Mix together and cool slightly Place 1 pkg of yeast in 2 TBSP warm water (if too hot you will kill the yeast) let the yeast dissolve in the water. Add the yeast to the milk mixture, checking first that the milk mixture is warm not too hot to kill the yeast. Add 2 cups flour to the milk mixture, Mix. Add 3 eggs to the mixture. Mix. Add another 2 cups of flour. Refrigerate the dough. It is sticky, so getting it cool makes it easier to handle. If you cannot let it chill for an hour (overnight is ok as well) If you do not have enough time to allow it to chill an hour, just add more flour to the dough as you roll it out. Divide the dough in half, liberally flour your surface and the top of the dough ball. Roll into a large circle, probably 14 to 18 inches across. cut like a pizza and roll from the large side into the small (tip of the triangle) Place on greased cookie sheet. Allow to rise for 30 minutes. Bake at 350 until golden, the bottom will be a bit browner. the secret ingredient is talk to mom on the phone while they're baking <3 Enjoy your delicious croissants! Then wash your dishes, cause I hate when my roommates cook and then never wash their dishes. *washes my dishes*
